Terms and conditions.

These terms and conditions apply to all Daybreak Ideas group programs, consulting services, and coaching solutions.

Overview

Congratulations on taking an important and courageous step towards your personal and professional goals by starting a Daybreak Ideas program!

Coaching is an alliance, a partnership between you and your coach. Both parties have responsibilities and accountabilities within the scope of our work together.

Similarly, consulting only makes impact when the consultant and the organization’s leaders and managers of the project are prepared to follow through on findings, and take consistent action far beyond the terms of the engagement.

The timing and pricing of your program is as listed on the program page and in your contract at the time of your purchase. You may renew or conclude at the close of your contract time period. If at any point during the engagement, the client believes that our services are not working as desired, the client will immediately communicate that to us and both parties will take action to remedy the situation before considering a discontinuation of services.

This agreement outlines our shared commitments and responsibilities and explains the structure of our services.

Our commitment to you

Your Coach/Consultant commits to the following responsibilities:

  • Confidentiality. Nothing you share will be shared with anyone else without your consent. We commit to creating a safe environment for you to express anything you wish and it will stay between you and your coach. Should an organization wish to receive information on the content of coaching sessions, this information will only be reported in aggregate format, centering on major themes, patterns, concerns and strengths of the organization based on multiple participants.

  • Commit to regular meetings. Any coaching or consulting solution works best when there is a routine both parties keep. We require a regular cadence of meetings that will be planned ahead of time based on the timelines in your specific program.

  • Set realistic expectations and offer challenging ideas and questions for your or your organization’s growth and confidence.

  • Help you confront old behavior, perspectives, perceptions, and habits. Coaching and consulting are not always comfortable, so at times your coach/consultant may challenge you. We commit to challenging you with kindness and respect, always with the intent to help you grow.

  • Provide support in critical situations, including the opportunity to rehearse and debrief or pilot new solutions

  • Provide objective, constructive feedback to trigger self-awareness and change

  • Provide resources and tools to supplement the coaching experience, as needed

Your commitment to investing in yourself.

By investing in your program, you commit to:

  • Bring your goals, challenges, and ideas. You are in charge of the direction and discussion topics and you are the expert in yourself / your company; we are here to take you through a collaborative process to work toward the life, career, and business goals you want. We bring experience- and research- based methodologies and approaches to get you from where you are to where you want to be.

  • Follow through on commitments you make in the framework of our engagement together. Taking action outside of this engagement is essential — mandatory — to a successful result.

  • Commit to regular meetings. Especially in the case of workshops or coaching engagements, we ask that you prioritize your committed time in your calendar to the greatest extent possible. In the case of any multi-appointment engagement (like coaching, project management, or a multi-module workshop) we require pre-set, recurring time slots (same time and day of the week, every week) so that your meetings fit best into your calendar. We ask that all participants protect their committed time and reduce moves.

  • Communicate any concerns early, if they arise.

Coaching is different from therapy.

Coaching is about moving from the present to your future goals, working through challenges, and building towards your optimal future. Coaching is not a substitute for counseling or therapy. We are not licensed to treat any mental health concern. Should the client encounter a challenge that may be better suited to a trained mental health professional, we will make every effort to connect you with other resources that may be more helpful.

Rescheduling and cancellation policy.

We respect your time and we commit to prioritizing you on our calendar. We will offer you at least 24 hours’ notice or more, should we need to change any appointment. We require 24 hours’ notice for a cancellation or rescheduling request from our clients as well. If less or no notice is given, the appointment or workshop will be charged as if it was attended and cannot be made up without a contract extension.

Confidentiality in coaching.

This coaching relationship, as well as all information (documented or verbal) that the Client shares with the Coach as part of this relationship, is bound by the principles of confidentiality set forth in the ICF Code of Ethics. However, please be aware that the Coach-Client relationship is not considered a legally confidential relationship (like the medical and legal professions) and thus communications are not subject to the protection of any legally recognized privilege. The Coach agrees not to disclose any information pertaining to the Client without the Client’s written consent.

The Coach will not disclose the Client’s name as a reference without the Client’s consent. Confidential Information does not include information that: (a) was in the Coach’s possession prior to its being furnished by the Client; (b) is generally known to the public or in the Client’s industry; (c) is obtained by the Coach from a third party, without breach of any obligation to the Client; (d) is independently developed by the Coach without use of or reference to the Client’s confidential information; or (e) the Coach is required by statute, lawfully issued subpoena, or by court order to disclose; (f) is disclosed to the Coach and as a result of such disclosure the Coach reasonably believes there to be an imminent or likely risk of danger or harm to the Client or others; and (g) involves illegal activity.

Refund policy

Because our primary service is time, no refunds can be offered for sessions that were already attended. However, partial refund requests can be considered for pre-paid unused time and services only, on a case-by-case basis, if a) the client has already followed the cancellation and rescheduling policy referenced above AND b) the client has clearly brought specific concerns up and tried to find a solution together with us first.

No guarantees

The personalized, individualized elements of our programs and the highly participative methodology of coaching, consulting and our other services and programs all mean we cannot offer any specific guarantees of results. This is because success is more highly dependent on what a client does with the information provided than on the information itself. This is also because measures like timing of success, amount of money related to your success, and results from networking activities are highly dependent upon each client’s current industry, profession, salary level, network, and many other factors outside of our control and sometimes outside of the participant’s full control. The intention of our programs is to provide you with reliable structures, frameworks, and change methodologies based on experience and research, to provide avenues for change and movement — all to be continually evolved as more and more clients achieve success.

By purchasing a program or service from us, you agree that you understand and will adhere to the terms and conditions as listed above, as well as any program-specific policies that may be included in your contract, if applicable.
